I kind of wish the mods would have a second channel for people interested in metaphysics (umbrella term) to just hang out and talk in. As there was a lot of nice really heavy informational stuff about spirituality earlier. Ah well, there's not enough activity in this channel to warrent having more channels
Do you meta goers view meta as science yet to be discovered? Or do you just say its whatever the hell , science or not?
Yes and no, to answer this question. some of it is just stuff that science doesn't have a way to measure yet, like the soul. But science also can't disprove the soul, all they can say is they can't measure it if it exists.
Other parts are just hooey that some bums took upon themselves to spread around online.
Still other parts are things that fall under the meta umbrella but are more along the lines of shamanic understandings of the world. And shamanic understanding is a very different way of looking at the world. A way of looking that involves diving deep into the mind. Through channels that science has no way of measuring or even finding words for.(edited)
as far as science is concerned I learned a funny story about the origins of science and why it's so wholly concerned with the physical realms and not at all concerned with the spiritual
I mean like. There's people who fully believe in themselves and do shit like. Drawing a picture and talking to your bathwater to turn into a mermaid. So obviously not everything should be taken at face value with this sutff

that's the problem with an entity that's so large and or higher-dimensional that it defies all attempts at description. Each person is going to have their own experience with God and from there all religion is born.
I'm a big supporter of everyone has their own path to walk and it's their duty to find it. For some that path will be the same path others are taking in one of the major religions. For others they just need to walk their own walk.
To add to that thought religion is just a group of people following one person's spiritual experience.
So back in the dark ages after the fall of the roman empire the Roman Catholic church had all the power. They would go about and kill anyone that spoke out about anything that could be considered "blasphemy"

so eventually some science types got together and said hey, we'll let you worry about the soul and the spiritual aspect of life. We'll worry about the physical.

so science at least in the western world split off from the spiritual side of things completely. they only deal with the physical world. that which can be measured, weighed and examined.

What's interesting is that in places like china and india there wasn't that split. That's why there's practices like accupuncture that are recognized as akin to science over there.

that's why Indian and chinese doctors that come to the USA looking for a better life can't go about practicing their medicine. They have to go back to school and learn WESTERN medicine before they'll be allowed to practice

To split medicine into dealing only with the physical leads to inventions like pills and drugs to deal with the physical symptoms and ailments. Completely ignoring the mental spiritual energetic side of things. There are cases where a person is sick only because of their mental state. Their belief system. Or because of trauma experienced through pain. But science doesn't care about any of that. If a pill can be administered for a problem or a surgery can be performed that's enough for them.
